Canada Now Offers New Visa Applications for Welders, Plumbers, and Others

A new immigration route has been made available in Canada for plumbers, carpenters, and welders from Nigeria and other nations.

Tuesday, August 1, 2023 saw the announcement of a streamlined pathway for skilled workers with a focus on welding, plumbing, and carpentry by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Canadian government explained that in order to meet the rising local demand for talent and fill positions that directly affect economic growth and advancement, it gives priority to inviting skilled newcomers with experience in trades.

The shortage of skilled tradespeople in the nation must be addressed, according to IRCC minister Marc Miller, and helping the construction industry find and retain the workers it requires is one part of the solution.

According to the statement, “Canada’s Express Entry (EE) system is now designed to offer a quick and easy route for people with knowledge of crucial fields.

More information will be provided in the upcoming weeks. “These category-based selection rounds will continue throughout the year, in addition to general invitation rounds.

The skilled trades workers are recognized as being essential in this round of category-based selection, and I am looking forward to welcoming more of these talented people to Canada.

This occurs just two months after Sean Fraser, the former IRCC minister, announced EE would undergo category-based selection changes.

The new procedure was intended to make it easier for newcomers with work experience to become permanent residents of the country.

The Canadian government has implemented the EE, an online platform that gives skilled workers the chance to apply for permanent residence outside of their home countries.

There are various ways for professionals and skilled workers to qualify for a Canada immigration permanent resident visa, according to lawyers at the First Immigration Law Firm in Canada.

The most popular choice is Express Entry, which is Canada’s primary route for skilled workers from lower socioeconomic groups. The Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class requirements are your best bet for qualifying under the entry, according to the attorneys.
