Lagos LP Rally: Teenager goes viral for adulating Peter Obi

Elections in Nigeria have always been a period for Nigerian politicians to deploy certain unconventional tactics in other to sway votes.

From deceptive appearances to delineate humility to the unsuspecting electorate, to staging events to show public acceptability, as with the APC’s 30 bishops of July 2022, political parties and Nigerian politicians have been on the prowl, gathering whatever clout they can lay their hands on, as far as it boosts their chances of emerging victorious at the polls.

However, that has not been the case of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi who has commanded a large organic following across the length and breadth of the country even before he declared his intention to run for the office of the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Onitsha born businessman has so far shifted the political paradigm in the country and for the first time, Nigeria has a candidate who is very accessible, no matter where you fall in the social strata.

Yusuf Alabi came to Lagos from Oyo to ‘hustle’

This was the case with 15 year old Yusuf Alabi who accosted the motorcade of his preferred presidential candidate, Peter Obi despite not being eligible to vote as he’s less than 18 years, the required minimum age for voters.

Master Alabi who originally hails from Oyo state came to Lagos to hustle, and has been catering for himself since his arrival a year ago.

In his words, he loves Peter Obi and wants him to win the election, and when he wins, he’d pray for him to perform well, as obtained from a video of his interacting with a Twitter user who shared the media on their page.

The picture shows Alabi standing in front of the SUV conveying Obi, with his arms spread out wide, an indication of acceptance, love, and solidarity with the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

The picture has since gone viral and gained the attention of some notable Twitter users who have already initiated steps to take the teenager off the streets in a bid to further his education.
