The Nigerian Police Has Sent an Invite to Popular Skit Maker, Trinity Guy For Extreme Pranks.

The Oyo State Police Command has extended an invitation to the skit maker, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, popularly known as Trinity Guy, due to his involvement in a mischievous video featuring a young individual who he asked to describe his genitals. This news was shared via a tweet from the command’s official handle on Thursday.

The tweet stated, “Popular content creator, Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, AKA Trinity, has been contacted and invited to the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content making the rounds across the Social Media space concerning a female minor. Updates would be provided soon,”.

Adisa had captured the attention of Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Police, who insisted on his arrest following a recent prank video where he startled passersby with simulated “gunshots.”

The Force Public Relations Officer had previously cautioned skit makers who heavily rely on pranks for their content, urging them to exercise control over their actions as they pose a threat to the lives of Nigerians. In a video posted on Instagram on Monday, he called for Adisa’s apprehension.

He further encouraged those affected by the skit maker’s pranks to report him to the appropriate authorities, stating, ““This doesn’t make any sense, and I think the guy should have been arrested.

Those individuals who feel the heat and fear of the pranks should report the pranksters, as many of their pranks are criminal, immoral, and evil. These women have a good case against him,” he wrote.

Taking to Twitter, he added,” We have warned them severally. When nothing happens, nothing happens, but when something happens, consequences will surely follow. They will soon realise the dangers attributed to the excessiveness of doing unguided pranks.”

This incident is not the first time a Nigerian skit maker has faced repercussions for an extreme or life-threatening prank. In August 2022, Eyinatayo Iluyomade, a 19-year-old comedian based in Lagos, was arrested and brought before a court of law due to an ill-advised joke that carried a hefty price.
