Sofia Vergara Reveals Requests In The Joe Manganiello Divorce

Nearly two weeks after Joe Manganiello, her husband of seven years, filed for divorce, Sofia Vergara responded in court.

According to court documents obtained by USA TODAY on Tuesday, the “Modern Family” star asked a Los Angeles court to annul her marriage to Manganiello due to their irreconcilable differences and uphold their prenuptial agreement. These demands were included in Manganiello’s divorce petition, which was filed on July 19—two days after the couple’s separation was confirmed in a statement to Page Six.

According to the documents, the two got married in November 2015 and have been living apart since July 2.

They both requested the court to divide their assets, including jewellery and artwork, as well as their earnings accumulated before and after their marriage, in separate filings. Sofa has formally retaliated against her ex, and she is working to ensure that the prenuptial agreement serves its intended purpose.

People reports that on July 26, the 51-year-old asked the court to uphold the terms of the settlement they reached and to “confirm that certain assets, including jewellery, artwork, and ‘other personal effects,’ should remain hers.”

Vergara and Manganiello’s representatives have been contacted by USA TODAY for comment.

The couple told Page Six that they had made the difficult decision to divorce. “As two very devoted and caring individuals, we kindly request respect for our privacy at this time as we move through this new stage of our lives.”
