Despite supporting Peter Obi for president in the 2023 elections, legendary artist Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, claimed he is still in Nigeria, even though he promised otherwise.

The legendary musician had promised to leave Nigeria after the 2023 presidential elections if either Bola Ahmed of the All Progressives Congress, APC, or Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won the election.

After Mr Tinubu was coined the winner of the presidential election held on February 25th and took office on May 29th, Mr Oputa claimed he is still in the nation months after swearing in because Peter Obi gave him new hope.

On Friday, he announced via his Twitter account that he remembers saying over a year ago that if the PDP or APC won the election, he would simply pack his belongings and leave Nigeria but he said he’s still residing in Nigeria today because, despite all the Potopoto he’s seeing. He also thanked Peter Obi for keeping his hope alive.

Netizens praised him for this action:

@SlyefPoet said “NA MAN YOU BE
