The popular Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, whose real name is Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, recently expressed her delight at speaking with American rapper Nicki Minaj over the phone.

Ayra praised Nicki Minaj and said the rapper was instrumental in helping her gain confidence in an interview that was published in the most recent issue of Teen Vogue.

She credited Nicki for giving her the confidence to fight her professors, stating that it was all thanks to her.

“It just seems so unbelievable. On our call, Nicki Minaj was so cool. She doesn’t realise how much I cherish her. I grew up hearing her sing and perform. I told her, “You gave me confidence and I was able to tell my professors ‘no’ because of you”. said Ayra Starr.

The singer of “Rush” added, “Getting signed to Mavin was undoubtedly one of the best things that ever happened to me as an artist.” She believes that being a member of the Mavin family has given her the opportunity to use her talent and achieve her musical goals.

Don Jazzy, the music producer who created Mavin Records, is recognized for supporting and fostering budding musicians in the Nigerian music scene. Ayra was one of the budding musicians he took under his wings.

Ayra has gained popularity quickly since her debut because of her alluring voice and distinctive sound, and even though it was only a phone conversation, her collaboration with Nicki Minaj is an amazing career milestone.
